Only four Chase races left and right now it is between Double-J and Denny Hamlin. The question is can anyone else be a factor? Kevin Harvick is starting from 14th while JJ is 19th and DH is 17th. Will this effect their efforts to avoid the ‘big one?’ Only time can tell, meanwhile, check out who I like to win over at Doc’s Sports.com. If you haven’t been paying attention I have nailed the winner in four of six Chase races so far….GLTA

NASCAR: Another Race Another Winner

How do you spell relief for a dull Chase?

Can’t say I am too surprised with the finish as Denny Hamlin pulls with six-points of Jimmie Johnson. Now this is what NASCAR fans need some excitement with three races remaining in the Chase. It was either Hamlin or Johnson, but you know with that clean, clear air Hamlin from the Pole was going to dominate. Johnson finished fifth and the surprise of the day was the Old Man Martk Martin finishing in second. While I missed with the This marks the fourth winner I have given  in the past six Chase races. If you missed it you can read the column on the TUMS Fast Relief 500 over at Doc’s Sports.com.

Whaddya bet some random Jeff Burton wins today?

Er, so between Hamlin and Double-J, they have won the last eight races at Marty-ville. Yep, count ’em. The last eight! So whom do you suppose will win today? Of course my column was due days before they actually qualify (which makes less sense than me working in an Emergency Department). Regardless, you’ll notice from my post below that Hamlin won the pole and Double-J will start from somewhere in the middle-like it actually matters where Jimmie starts, right? Big question is will Hamlin win or will Double-J and DH knock each other out and DQ? Guess that is why they actually run the races, they might not, though, if Jimmie wins his fifth Cup! So if you want to read who I like to win you can find it at Doc’s Sports after the jump!

NCAAF Betting: Friday Night Lights

leave a comment »

With fans like these how can the Golden Eagles not soar tonight?

Big game tonight with all kinds of BCS implications (ha!) as the Jayhawks travel to Southern Miss for another edition of Friday Night Lights. This time we have Southern Miss set as 5.5-point chalk with the total hovering around 52-53 pts depending upon where you shop. Kansas is 5-1 ATS in the L3Y in games played in September. However, the Jayhawks are coming off a huge upset win at home against the Yellow-jackets. A game in which Kansas was set as almost a two TD home-dog.

Meanwhile, handing us the fist loss of the season were the Golden Eagles who dropped a 13-41 contest at South Carolina. Southern Miss then beat Prairie View. However, the home team is a 5.5 point favorite. Handicapping this FNL event I had Kansas as a pick ’em, or even SM as a -1 pt favorite so the 5.5 points makes absolutely no sense. Other than that this is the only college action on the WWL and it is a square night so jack up the points as high as the market will bear, right. Even though, I am not biting and going to the dogs.

Two Red Lights:

1) Kansas lost N. Dakota state 3-6???????, but plays well against the Yellow-Jackets. And, how will Kansas play on the road? Both win and loss came at home and so it will be interesting how they fare against an SM team that is 1-0 ATS in the last three seasons against Kansas.

2) Revenge. Last year Kansas won but did not cover the 11.5 points at home, 35-28.

Pick! Southern Miss -5. I am paying twenty cents to buy down the hook.

NASCAR: Air Guard 400 Betting Analysis

leave a comment »

Welly, well, well, well, well….I got that old feeling in me guttiwud and its like I’ve been kicked straight in the yarbles. I vide I’d better get a cuppa at the Kordova and then lay a few V-chips on the last race of the final season and the points are reset. Who knows who will win, but it is always fun speculating on the outcome. There are no braver souls than those who speculate with their own hard bet dollars and come out ahead at least 55% of the time. And if you can make that number investing in NASCAR you’ll make a very comfortable living.

That said, tonight the boys will race around the short-track that longs to be a super-speedway, Richmond International Raceway, where the track is as much of a star as, well, Night Ranger, and the 43 sheet cars that tool around her seductive curves. The Chase field is pretty much set and it is Clint Bowyer who will earn No. 12 tonight. But, who will finish in the top three? And who will in this puppy to gain much needed momentum going into New Hampshire? My take is after the jump at Doc’s Sports, one of the finest sports investment destinations on the internets. See who I like after the Jump!

Dancing with the Stars: Odds and Predictions

leave a comment »

Well if there is a show on television that you can bet on leave it to Bodog.com to find a way to hang a line and make some money off of it. Dancing with the Stars is set to kick-off its Season 11 with a new cast and a new theme and this year could be considered MTV’s finest field to date. Anyway, “The Situation” from Jersey Shore should be fun to watch as is the rest of the weird collection of publicity-whores..including “The Hoff!” This is going to be a wonderful extravaganza that keeps on giving.

The actual show doesn’t start until September 20 , but legions of fans are excited for this show, even though it falls on a Monday night when most degenerate dads should be watching MNF! Anyway, if you are interested in making this television show even more interesting than it might already be, then you might want to consider dropping a few V-Chips on my selection over at Doc’s Sports after the jump…..Who will win Dancing With the Stars: Season 11

Flushing Money: Sequined Panties Edition

leave a comment »

Tough match calls for more sequins

Or could I legitimately call it the Flushing Tampon’s edition? Let’s just keep it clean at today’s gynocentric semi-finals as US Open fans, and fans of Caroline Wozniacki’s wonderful yellow shorts, will be treated to two tough matches.

Wozniacki vs. Zvonareva (13:35)

If you are just getting up you have plenty of time to call up some pictures of Wozniacki’s camel toe at Wimbledon, jerk-off, smoke a bone, drink a few Bloody Mary’s and drop a couple of nickels on the matches.  You’ll earn +300 on your money backing Zvonareva while you’ll lay -400 on Wozniacki to return to the finals. The players have met four times with each winning twice. Most recently Zvonareva won in Charleston and Wozniacki won in Montreal.  I’ve spent a lot of money eating chalk this Open and don’t want to make that same mistake again. This match will undoubtedly go into three sets and with the weather on the cool side Wozniacki won’t have to worry as much about cramping. It is very hard to say who is going to come out the winner since they’ll play this to the wire. In the end I am going to try to get three – times return on my investment and back Zvonareva at +300 in this spot for the upset.

Pick! Zvonareva +300

Venus Williams vs Kim Clijsters (15:35)

If it is the semi-finals of a Grand Slam you expect to see a Williams sister and this time it is Venus who unforced-errored her way into the semi-finals over Schiavone. Williams will meet an opportunist named Kim in the day’s second WTA semi-final match. If you like Venus to win you can back her at +150. If you think Clijsters will win you can back the Belgium for -190 on the ML. Something tells me that despite both players less than awesome hard court play in their last quarter-finals matches, Clijsters will be very up for her match against Venus. Weren’t the Williams’ exactly the reason why she returned to professional tennis? The last time these two players met (they are 6-6 head-to-head all time) was in Miami earlier this year and Clijsters absolutely dominated the distracted venus 6-2, 6-1. Then there was the fourth round of the US Open last year when Clijsters won that 6-0, 0-6, 6-4.

Clijsters has won 19 consecutive US Open matches….make that 20!

Pick! Kim Clijsters, -190  for five units. This is my biggest play of the 2010 US OPEN. I AM VERY VERY CONFIDENT ABOUT THIS PLAY. This is my five star sequined pantie edition pick.

After winning the first set yesterday, Warwrinka managed to blow it in five sets which cost me one unit and frustrated the shit out of me as I hadn’t bothered to watch the match after the first set.  UGH!

NASCAR UNDER THE LIGHTS: EMORY HEALTHCARE 500

leave a comment »

Edwards has been flying high in recent weeks

After a one week hiatus NASCAR hits you under the lights at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This is the penultimate race before the Chase and the points reset. I am convinced that this one is wide open like the girls at Rooster’s Barnyard. There are a few things you can count on when going to the great city of Atlanta for race weekend. If you are a DD on the loose (wife at home, check) in the peach of the south, then you have about 30 gentlemen’s clubs to choose. From skanky to high service, bed-bugged back-alley whores and front-of-house pleasure merchants, it’s definitely time to let your MOOBS hang out in Hampton.

And of course if you are looking to increase your evening viewing experience check out my NASCAR betting column for the  EMORY HEALTHCARE 500  picks and more after the jump at Doc’s Sports.com. Not only does Doc’s have my articles but they’ve been posting in-depth free winning analysis and predictions on a variety of sports-all for free. So if you aren’t into NASCAR don’t that stop you click on the link and see all the great analysis they had for today’s ball games (our lone pick cashed, sure one play is boring, but I won and that isn’t that hard to get used to, is it?).

Caroline Wozniacki shows why she is the No. 1 seed at the US Open

Yesterday I wasn’t very enamoured of any of the match-ups and when I am uncertain I keep my blog trap shut. Today is a beautiful Saturday in Northwestern Connecticut and we’re maxing and relaxing enjoying everything the Nutmeg State has to offer. Meanwhile, I see a few matches that are screaming for my attention and V-chips so without hesitation here are a few plays to bring you into Saturday night on the first college football Saturday of the year.
